Christmas in July 2026
The 4th Annual Christmas in July 7s Tournament is back! We’re excited for teams across the region to come for a day of fast-paced 7s, festive energy, and summer vibes. Start planning your Christmas-themed outfits and get ready to make some memories on and off the pitch.
We began in 2023 with 17 teams and have grown into a 32-team tournament this year! After two years as a MAC qualifier, the 2026 tournament is returning to its roots to focus on fun, community, and celebrating rugby with teammates, friends and family.
We will have a Men’s and Women’s social division to ensure every team gets plenty of games and playing time. Early registration ends 05/31/2026. Registration closes 06/27/2026.

In 2023, James River Women put on their first Christmas in July 7s tournament. The team had wanted to host its own tournament for a while, and decided on a sister tournament to the men's Christmas 7s tournament that occurs every year in December. In its inaugural year, the tournament hosted 17 teams and was chosen to be a MAC qualifier in just the second year! For year 1, the tournament only had one men's and one women's division, named to honor former players Monk Vaughn and Mary Wrenn. In year 2, JR will be tripling that and offering 6 divisions.
